Home Cross is a nice smartphone adaptation of Nonogram and Picross, a kind of puzzle where you color the cells of a grid to reveal the hidden drawing.
Gameplay in Home Cross is as follows: at the beginning of each puzzle, you'll see a grid and some numbers on the top and left sides. These numbers indicate how many cells should be colored in that row or column. If the grid is 5x5, a good strategy is to begin by coloring all the cells in rows or columns marked with a 5, then continue by process of elimination. Sometimes, instead of finding one number on the side of the grid, you'll find two.
This means that there are two series of colored cells in that row, with a blank space in between. But because you don't know where the blank space is, you'll have to look at the rest of the cells to make sure you're complying with the other rows and columns. At the same time, you can mark cells you want to block with an X when you're sure you want to leave them blank. Before long, you'll see the pixelated drawing.
Home Cross is a fun and simple puzzle game. Its premise, which is to build a house with the elements you find in the drawings, gives it an extra cozy touch.
